Course Structure

Operational Aspects

The master's degree is organized in 4 semesters. Classes in the first three semesters are subdivided into 2 parts: the first of 11 weeks and the second with 4 weeks of classes.

The first 11 weeks of each semester consist of 4 courses aimed at providing students with the scientific and technological knowledge that will enable them to have a clear understanding of the specificities associated with the development of Critical Systems. The knowledge acquired by students in these courses is followed by a short evaluation break.

The remaining 4 weeks, in the case of the first and second semesters, are of practical nature and will be developed in the context of a project, where students are organized in groups with the goal of developing projects whose content is mostly connected with the classes attended by the students of that semester. The content of those projects will either be proposed by academics or based on real use cases proposed by our industrial partners. On the third semester these 4 weeks are used for students to define their Thesis Research Plan.

The last semester is entirely devoted to the development of the Project/Thesis/Internship, including the writing of the document.
