Best Work-In-Progress Paper Award at WFCS 2021

11, Jun, 2021

The paper entitled "Impact of Network Centrality on the Gateway Designation of Real-Time TSCH Networks", presented by CISTER/FEUP PhD Student Miguel Gutiérrez Gaitán, at the 17th IEEE International Conference on Factory Communication Systems (WFCS 2021) has earned the “Best Work-In-Progress Paper” Award.

The WFCS is the largest IEEE conference especially dedicated to communications for industrial automation systems. Its aim is to provide a forum for researchers, developers and practitioners to review and discuss the most recent trends in this area.

The paper authored by Miguel Gutiérrez Gaitán, Luís Almeida, Alejandro Figueroa and Diego Dujovne, presents novel ideas to improve (by design) the schedulability of real-time TSCH networks, a highly-relevant topic within the communication for automation domain. The approach presented was recognized with great potential to be extended beyond the wireless networks field, e.g. to areas including (but not limited to) software-defined networking and time-sensitive networking.
