Ricardo Filipe Teixeira Gomes was born in 1983 and holds a BSc (2006) and MSc (2008) in Electronics and Computers Engineering (Automation and Systems) from the Engineering School of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ISEP/IPP), and participated in an European Entrepreneurship course (2009) has a project promoter.

He started working with CISTER/IPP-Hurray! in September 2006 in the area of Industrial Automation, and afterwards shifted his focus to dominance MAC protocols for WSN and Cyber-Physical Systems.

In the context of these research areas, he has consistently improved over time his low-level programming and hardware specification and design skills through the development of several hardware prototypes in high-frequency, digital and mixed-signal, for WSN MAC applications and WSN Instrumentation Systems.
